About us
Bellia Claudio is a leader in the production of Radicchio Rosso of Treviso, Variegated radicchio of Castelfranco and Asparagus of Badoere.
Our company was founded by Antonio Bellia, who was born back in 1889. After World War I, Antonio devoted himself to various crops, and his firstborn Elia, who was born in 1923, carried on the family tradition in agriculture. A veteran of World War II who had fought in the Eastern Front, Elia worked for some years in the wine industry near Meolo, in the eastern part of the Province of Venice, and returned to his hometown Scorzè, in 1969.
The family-run farm composed by his wife Lucia, his daughter Graziella and his son Claudio, took up the growing of vegetables, particularly the growing of the Radicchio Rosso. In 1990, having reached retirement age, Elia left the head of the business to his son Claudio. In 2009, Claudio’s sons Damiano and Francesco joined actively the business.
Over the years, the company has achieved two important quality certificates: the Protected Geographical Indication for the Radicchio Rosso di Treviso, the Radicchio Variegato di Castelfranco and the Asparago di Badoere. In 2015 it has also obtained the NFSE Global GAP certification for the production of the radicchios and of the sweet potato.
The farm implements the cultivation of its products in the open field, and the operations of cleaning and packaging in the farm, where we also have a shop for the direct sale of our products. Our productions are handled with a specific methodology, and are personalized complying with the sanitary regulations in the locals assigned to the processing.
